Jason Zimmel
President
Jason is a businessman, accountant and finance professional who has operated commercial and residential syndicated real estate investments over the past 8 years. He is a Certified General Accountant and in 1998 achieved a B. Commerce from the University of Alberta.
President and CFO of several private companies, as well as Business Income Tax and GST Auditor for the Canada Revenue Agency, Jason has gained a wide variety of investment, finance, accounting, construction and management experience. Jason held senior finance positions at Trafford Publishing, (recognized as one of Canada’s fastest growing top 100 companies), 3One Media Corp. and League Assets Corp. In addition to his finance positions, he also served as Vice chairman of Trafford’s Board and Board Director with 3One Media.
Jason’s experience in real estate syndication comes from his role as founder of URBING Properties and his senior finance role at League Asset Corp. where he contributed to the management of $80 million of investment capital in various commercial and residential real estate portfolios.
Hans Van de Kamp
CEO
Hans is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 30 years of senior management and business development experience across several industry sectors. A founding shareholder and active Director of 3One Media Corp., Hans was responsible for the overall corporate affairs of the company, including mergers, acquisitions and shareholder relations. During his tenure, he was also President of 3One’s US based operations.
Hans’ public company expertise includes officer positions as VP Operations and VP Business Development. In 1998 he founded Myon Systems Inc., based within the University of Victoria Innovation Center. Myon developed and delivered Internet turn-key solutions to radio broadcasters across North America.
From 1984 to 1998, he was actively involved in the Canadian Cable TV industry including over 10 years with Shaw Communications Inc. His duties with Shaw included: consolidating new acquisitions, managing overall regional operations with annual budgets exceeding $50 million, overseeing a significant real estate portfolio and liaising with numerous municipal and regional governments.
From 1980-84, he was President of Spectrum Imports Ltd., and travelled extensively overseas to secure products from multiple manufacturers which were sold through Canadian retail and wholesale channels. Prior to this, he spent several years developing new Cable TV franchise operations in various parts of the United States. Among his many accomplishments, he achieved the top technical certification from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Kim E. Johnson
Director
Kim is a principal of Ross, Johnson & Associates in Victoria, British Columbia. Kim practices commercial law with a preferred area of practice in exempt securities offerings and real estate disclosure documents for whole and fractional strata lot sales by developers. Kim’s practice has a particular emphasis on representing entrepreneurial clients requiring financing to fund growth or acquisitions.
Kim’s clientele include a publicly traded real estate investment trust, a TSX-Venture listed public company, a Canadian company trading on the US pink sheets, an oil and gas company with a flow-through share offering and companies entitled to the 30% BC Venture Capital tax credit, as well as various private companies and limited partnerships. Kim also has several clients that have goods manufactured in China or that have partnered with Chinese businesses.
Kim was formerly a partner with a major inter-provincial law firm and has been involved in many large transactions including the Hibernia offshore oil project. Kim is also the Director of a TSX-Venture listed public company and of several private companies. Kim was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1982, to the B.C. Bar in 1984 and has a BV Distinguished rating in Martindale-Hubbell®.
Oliver Ding
Managing Partner – URBING Capital
Oliver has held senior management and Board positions on numerous global high-tech companies in the telecommunications, networking, software design and electrical power grid management industries.
Oliver began his career in investment banking working in Japan, U.K, Hong Kong and Mainland China. In 1993, he joined the investment banking division of NatWest Markets in Hong Kong with a focus on cross border mergers and acquisitions, private equity fund raising, IPO, debt and structured financing. He later joined the Crosby Group in Hong Kong becoming the head of the Corporate Advisory for Greater China.
Oliver graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1983 from Fudan University, Shanghai, in China. After working for the Central Government in Beijing, he went to Canada where he received a Masters of Science Degree from the University of New Brunswick and an MBA from Ivy Business School.
